Johnston Healthcare Consulting was founded in September 2022 by Robert & Joanna Johnston.
Robert is a healthcare executive with nearly two decades of healthcare experience spanning several sectors of the industry. He's had the privilege of working for several industry-leading (and disrupting) organizations, including a Fortune 10 healthcare company. Robert holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Healthcare Administration with focuses in strategic innovation and change management.
The latter half of Robert's career has been primarily dedicated to NCQA accreditation. However, his quality management experience also includes HEDIS, CAHPS, & provider satisfaction. Coming from a payor background, he is also well-versed in a number of other operational areas.
Joanna is a registered nurse by trade with a wide variety of clinical experience covering home health, hospice, special needs, long-term care, acute rehab, med-surg, & PCU. This valuable industry experience translated well into non-clinical roles in case management, utilization management, revenue cycle, and appeals. She has worked for several industry-leading organizations over her nearly 20 years as a nurse and continues to make an impact.
Joanna holds a Masters degree in Nursing Informatics and two Bachelors degrees. She has an unmatchable passion for data and ensuring it's being captured and utilized in the most efficient way possible. Even in unrelated roles, senior leaders have tapped into her expertise to bridge the gap between clinical and information technology teams to develop, and sometimes fix, accurate reporting.
Our goal is to treat clients the way we would want to be treated if we were hiring a consulting firm. This means a few things. First, we do not settle for anything less than perfection (frankly, our OCD wouldn't let us if we wanted to!). If hired, our goal will be to exceed your expectations and ensure your organization's success. Second, we are here to support YOU. Our relationship is dictated by you. We are here for as much or as little as you need. We may check in from time to time to make sure you're on target, but you won't be subjected to endless (and annoying) marketing, email communications, and phone calls.
Finally, a few words specific to NCQA consulting. Consultants have developed some poor client-facing habits over the years. From our perspective, they spend too many hours doing duplicative work or focusing on the tiniest details that will not impact your survey. Not only does this waste everyone's time - it wastes your organization's budget! We believe in efficiency and making the best use of our time to help achieve your goals in a way that's beneficial to everyone. To do that, we're changing the way you're billed. Johnston Healthcare Consulting charges different fees for different services - all of which are less expensive than big-name consulting groups. We believe that you should be charged based on the complexity of the task. There's a different level of skill and detail required to complete a thorough analysis as opposed to responding to a question via email. Let's change the way these relationships are forged - together.
